The project involved the installation of a comprehensive ground source system, utilising 12 boreholes drilled to a depth of 200 meters each along with a water borehole drilled to access a deep aquifer for supply of drinking water to the offices. The installation utilised the versatile Comacchio GEO 602 drilling rig, capable of handling both borehole drilling and water borehole installation. The system included associated ground source headering works complete with testing and flushing of the pipework before final addition of the Glycol to optimise the efficiency of the ground source heating and cooling system.
Objectives for the System
• Implement a sustainable and efficient geothermal heating and cooling system for the Office Block.
• Provide the client with a reliable and independent water supply through a dedicated water well.
• Enhance energy efficiency and reduce operational costs for the office block.
• 12 boreholes to 200metres depth
• Water Well: Drilled to aquifer depth to secure a sustainable water supply
• Headering Works: Included to connect and optimise the performance of the ground source boreholes.
